Working as a senior member of the admissions team you will help provide a highly responsive and customer focused enquiries and admissions service that supports students and maximises the recruitment, selection and retention of students to Hartpury University and Hartpury College.

      With experience of working in an administrative function, you will possess excellent organisational, team working and customer service skills and be IT proficient.

      Hartpury University and Hartpury College are among the UK’s leading specialist education providers in agriculture, animal, equine, sport and veterinary nursing.

       

      Hartpury’s commercial yard enables students to gain a wealth of practical and work experience in all aspects of horse care and management. It features stabling for 230 horses, including 125 boxes for student livery. Facilities also include two horse walkers, four indoor schools, three outdoor schools, limited turnout and a non-slip trot-up.

       

      The Equine Yard Technician will support the Equine Department in providing an outstanding and safe experience for students, commercial users and ensure a high standard of horse welfare. The role supports the Equine Team in the day to day running of the Equine Unit, assisting with the supervision of students whilst undertaking practical tasks and supervising student liveries. The post holder will also be part of our team hosting and assisting with the running of International Equine Events and commercial bookings throughout the year.

       

      We require a team player who has the enthusiasm and drive to motivate students and maintain our professional standards. The successful applicant will be provided with the opportunity to work towards improving and developing their riding ability within two staff development lessons per week. The accommodation comprises of a single occupancy double bedroom within a shared recently refurbished farmhouse situated on-site. Facilities include a large communal living room, kitchen and garden with parking. A pre-paid meal card is provided for use at food outlets around the campus.

      Hartpury University has recently invested heavily within its sport and exercise science provision including the construction of a brand new Sports Academy comprising of a new human performance laboratory, a biomechanics laboratory and sports therapy and rehabilitation facilities. The university also boasts a teaching kitchen utilised extensively by the BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Nutrition programme. The successful candidate will therefore be expected to develop student teaching and learning experiences that make the most of these facilities and in doing so bring theory and practice together symbiotically.

      You will be an outstanding individual with substantial experience of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate level within the field of sport and exercise nutrition. You will also have experience of applied sport and exercise nutrition practice, together with the required expertise to deliver specialist modules across undergraduate provision that link theoretical concepts to applied contexts in the area of sport and exercise nutrition. Alongside this, we are looking for an individual who has the experience to deliver in associated sport science disciplines, specifically exercise physiology, in both classroom and applied laboratory environments across levels 4 to 6. Experience of programme leadership and making a positive contribution to student outcomes is a distinct advantage.

      The successful candidate will possess a relevant sport and exercise nutrition/dietetics postgraduate qualification, and will be highly motivated and committed to sustained excellence. Ideally, you will be a registered Sports and Exercise Nutritionist (SENr) or equivalent, or be currently working towards this. A record of active research and knowledge exchange is welcomed, as is applied practitioner experience.
