    • Lecturer in Agriculture – Mechanised Crop Production

    • £21,106 - £31,397 per annum

      We are looking to recruit an outstanding Agricultural Lecturer who is highly motivated, student focused and has strong interpersonal skills to join the Agriculture Department. You will be expected to deliver exceptional teaching, which will assist students to achieve excellent results. You will be able to inspire students to appreciate and enjoy all aspects of agriculture, instilling in them a passion for the subject and a desire to develop their understanding. You will be based at Home Farm and will deliver crop, workshop and machinery related units as well as being a course tutor for a group of students on the Level 3 Farm Mechanisation course.

       

      The successful candidate will hold or be required to work towards a teaching qualification. You will also be a strong team player, have excellent administration skills and demonstrate a willingness to engage with external partners and industry. Ideally you will possess an appropriate degree and be able to demonstrate a range of practical skills. We will consider applicants across a range of agricultural specialties. Experience of delivering Agriculture within the Further Education sector is desirable.

      An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to join Hartpury working on promoting Women’s & Girl’s Football within the local community. This is a joint venture between Hartpury College & the English Colleges Football Association. In line with the Football Association’s Gameplan for Growth, the primary role of the post is to contribute to the doubling of both the participation & fan base of Women’s & Girl’s football.

       

      This post will involve working alongside the Women’s Football Academy Manager and the Sports Development & Physical Activity Co-Ordinator to grow the amount of women & girls regularly playing football. The successful applicant must be available to attend a national training event on 29th & 30th November 2017 at St George’s Park.

Working within a small team and responsible to the Grounds and Sport Turf Manager, you will need to be able to work with others and on your own.

       

      You will ideally be able to demonstrate a good knowledge and practical ability in working across a range of sports surfaces, grounds maintenance tasks and using machinery. You must be able to work without constant direct supervision.

Ranging from FE to postgraduate modules you will ensure all students receive the support they need to thoroughly interact with their practical sessions and gain an extremely positive experience.  A Full Driving Licence is essential.

      A new, progressive team is seeking an additional member to continue a large-scale transition of a key farming enterprise.

       

      The ideal candidate will be able to milk, carry out stock tasks, and operate machinery to a high standard, and be responsible for the dairy in the absence of the Head Herdsman. We are seeking an individual who has an interest in working with, and demonstrating best practice to, students.

       

      The herd is comprised of approximately 250 milking Holstein-Friesian cows, and milking takes place through a 16:32 rapid-exit De Laval parlour. The herd is currently undergoing a transition from all year round calving to an Autumn block.

       

      Suitable candidates will also be expected to be a flexible team player, with a willingness to assist on the other enterprises as needed, including the breeding ewe flock, dairy youngstock, beef, and arable enterprises.

      The role will include the delivery of teaching to both Higher and Further Education students across the Veterinary Nursing programmes at Hartpury. The successful candidate will also be involved in Veterinary Nursing Training Practice visits to quality assure and provide support to  our Training Practices as well as our Higher Education placements. Teaching and or Veterinary Nursing assessing/coaching experience is desirable but not essential as Hartpury operates an extensive staff development programme.
