      About the Role

       

      Accredited by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, there are now over 250 students studying within a bespoke Veterinary Nursing Centre.  As a result of the growth in student numbers and future plans, we are looking to recruit one additional member to join the current Higher Education Veterinary Nursing team through one of the following posts, dependent upon experience.

       

      An appointment at Junior Lecturer level will receive extensive support in developing skills in teaching and tutoring of students, across all years of university level delivery. Teaching and or Veterinary Nursing assessing/coaching experience is desirable but not essential as Hartpury operates an extensive staff development programme. 

       

      The successful candidate will be expected to teach and engage in student tutorials, as well as Veterinary Nursing Training Practice visits, to quality assure and provide support to our Training Practices as well as our VN Higher Education placements. 

       

      About You

       

      ·       Hold a teaching qualification or be willing to complete one within two years of appointment

      ·       Be highly motivated with a commitment to the highest quality of teaching and learning

      ·       You will posses a degree in the relevant subject area, with MSc/PhD/MA being desirable

      ·       Supporting higher education programme delivery, you will be a highly enthusiastic and professional RCVS Registered Small Animal Veterinary Nurse

      ·       Have postgraduate/industry experience within the subject field, with research practice being advantageous

      About the Role

       

      ·       You will support the development of systems, integrations and reporting for business applications across Hartpury, providing technical guidance and development and mentoring to the existing development team.

      ·       You will oversee the work of the development team to ensure that work meets technical and design requirements whilst ensuring the promotion of good development principles through ongoing mentoring

      ·       You will be expected to work on the full development lifecycle from design through to implementation – typically working within the Agile methodology framework.

      ·       You will have experience of supporting a wide array of business critical systems across a number of platforms including student records, HR and Finance.

      ·       You will develop and support the delivery of reporting projects as part of the UNIT-e SRS implementation and wider systems strategy for Hartpury.

      ·       Support the Veterinary Nursing Team in the preparation and delivery of taught sessions to groups of students.

      About the Role

       

      ·        As Senior Yard Technician, you will support the Equine Centre in providing an outstanding and safe experience for students and commercial users.

      ·        You will assist and support the day-to-day running of the Equine Centre as directed by Senior Management and will directly supervise, including periods of sole charge of student groups during practical learning experience, supporting safe practice and the development of professional standards.

      ·        You will also support the daily welfare of all horses, including student livery horses, based within the Equine Centre ensuring outstanding care and attention.

      ·        You will be part of our team hosting and assisting with the running of International equine events and commercial bookings throughout the year.

      ·        Accommodation for the role comprises of a single occupancy double bedroom within a shared recently refurbished farmhouse situated on-site. Facilities include a large communal living room, kitchen and garden with parking. A pre-paid meal card is provided for use at food outlets around the campus.

      ·        You will be provided with the opportunity to work towards improving and developing their riding ability within two staff development lessons per week.

       

      About You

       

      ·        You will be a qualified coach and hold the BHSQ Stage Three Coach qualification in order to deliver allocated practical and riding sessions, ensuring a quality student experience in line with academic and industry expectations.

      ·        You will be a team player who has the enthusiasm and drive to motivate students and maintain our professional standards.

      ·        You will have the knowledge and passion to ensure a high level of horse welfare and will have previous experience of working in a large equestrian centre or an educational establishment.

      ·        As part of the team you will be able to provide a high level of customer service for both our educational and commercial activities.
